Owner Joeri Hottentot fell in love with the idea of building wood watches during his tenure as an exchange student in the Pacific Northwest. After returning home to the Netherlands, Joeri decided to create his watches from FSC -certified hardwoods, a guarantee that the lumber has been responsibly sourced. In addition to using repurposed woods, HOT&TOT incorporates marble, natural stone and resin. Their commitment to sustainable practices is also visible in the way their watches are packaged and shipped: HOT&TOT uses recycled paper in the gift boxes and booklets too.
The signature feature of watches built by HOT&TOT is their simplicity: the watch faces are uncluttered with extra dials or distractions, which allows the wearer to see the markers with ease. Atypical shapes and color patterns also make the watches stand out. HOT&TOT also offers petite versions of their most popular watches: the Donar and the Wodan, which are characterized by their square 'dials' and faces in either white or black.
